On one of the busiest intersections in Baltimore, at Light and Lombard streets, there’s a big billboard featuring business owners with big dreams.
“As a kid, I wanted to be known for something and to have my face now on screens across Baltimore, it’s honestly a dream come true,” said Joyson Balisamore, the founder and chief hydration officer of Jay’s Watermelonade.

Balisamore built his business to bring healthier drinks to Baltimore.
“I did so after growing up experiencing high blood pressure and other health issues and realizing that sugary drinks are highly linked to things like diabetes, heart disease,” Balisamore said. “I found a really refreshing alternative that I wanted to promote to the rest of Baltimore.”
Balisamore is one of several business owners featured on 16 billboards and kiosks throughout Baltimore City as a part of a partnership between Orange Barrel Media, Ike, and Innovation Works.
